2nd time in the bed and then some

The first time in the big bed (grand garcons) he had no idea he could get down from the bed so he cried for a few minutes then fell asleep. In the morning he called us to get out. Pretty normal and pretty amazing.

Then the next day for his lunch time nap he discovered that he could get out of the bed himself. That made the lunch time nap very tough for mom (aka. the bouncer) but eventually he slept.

Also the 2nd night in bed it took 4 or 5 quick jaunts to the door to find out that he really couldn't leave the room and he gave up and went to bed. Not bad and that next morning at 7:50 a.m. he showed up in our room with a big HELLO mommy/daddy. That was fun as we both woke up to a great and soft voice, our sons. It was awesome.

We were very proud of him and I believe he understood that and pretty much every night since then it has been very easy to get him into bed and he gets a good nights sleep - typically 12 hours. These days around 8 to 8 a.m. with the occational 7:30 a.m. reveiller.

Now...wait a minute....there's the lunch time naps. Well, that's a very different story. Those are not easy at all and pretty much no matter what Mom does there is no way it's going to happen. He is absolutely resistent to get or stay in bed at lunch time, despite the fact that she knows he's exausted. And we know that going from 1 1/2 hours to 3 hour lunch time naps doesn't go to zero that fast!

Yesterday, Wed, he had no nap. By the end of the day, when I got back from a business trip to Louisville, Kentucky he was just spent. So tired he could hardly keep his eyes open.

Again today, Thursday, no way, so Mom took him for a ride in the car and within minutes he was sound asleep. Apparently it's either in the car or in the stroller is the only way he'll do it.
