Charlie and I went alone Saturday morning for the 10:30 a.m. public skate. We got there a bit early which meant we had the ice pretty much to ourselves for the first 20 minutes or so.
Charlie adapted well without Mom holding his other hand. He was able skate alone from red line to redline with falling only once at the half way marker, which I think when he made it that far figured he'd better just fall.
He's skating much faster this time but rely's on my hand to keep him up but he's quite able to do it on his own at this point, he just doensn't realize it yet.
He wasn't too disappointed that they wouldn't let him bring his hockey stick on and had fun just skating around and watching everyone else just wizz by him.
One little girl was always trying to encourage him but he was pretty shy.
By the time we left the rink was very busy. Coach Charlie was there and so was Coach Katty. We missed last wednesday's class since Charlie had caught my cold. He's better now but I still have a bit of it left over.
